We shudder every time we see a rider not wearing gloves …   why you ask ?

Well, firstly, in the unfortunate case of dropping your bike, (even at standstill, or very low speed), the first thing you do is put your hand down to stop you scratching that brand new helmet you just bought….   And without gloves… putting your hand down on to any hard surface is going to cause some problems….  Ill let you use your imagination there…

That’s not the only reason though! Gloves will also keep your hands warm, stop any road debris, rain, hail or stray insect from smacking you in the knuckle,  and will also help with hand fatigue on a long ride.  (trust me having a cicada hit your hand at 80kph is painful enough even  with gloves on)

A good fitting pair of gloves is a must, and most of us will have at least 2 or 3 pairs in different weights, lengths, thicknesses and styles.  Most of the gloves on the market today will have knuckle protection, palm sliders and a whole lot more safety features.
